Nouzhienino: During my time here, I will give my best to ensure that both the departments are well equipped in their concerned field of study with recent advancement and development, quality education and nurturing responsible denizens in both fields to support our society in the near future moreover be recognised by others as one of the reputed departments across the region and country at large.
3T: What is your teaching philosophy?
Nouzhienino: Differentiated to meet the needs of all learners, blend of theory and application to life.
3T: How did you become interested in this subject and why did you want to teach it?
Nouzhienino: Domains of Psychology consist of observation, studying, understanding and analysing why an individual behaves in different or certain conditions. Such curiosity and desire for exploration and service to my people led me into this field. Teaching does not only involve educating one’s students in a class but it goes beyond that, it pushes you to read and do more research in one’s own field, and you learn from students too. It is a two-way process for learning.
3T: What are your current research interests?
Nouzhienino: My current research interest areas are social depression, art therapy and dream analysis.
3T: Which have been more valuable in your career, your education or your experience?
Nouzhienino: Both education and experience are equally important as both complement each other. For instance, higher education without much experience may not make a person lucrative immediately in the field, however education with experience makes an individual become more competent, because education can be pursued but through experience comes wisdom. Therefore, I am of the opinion that they are equally important in one’s career and life.
3T: How do your personal and professional interests and research agenda contribute to your teaching in multicultural education?
Nouzhienino: Professional interest and research do come handy in a variety of ways in teaching as it widens our perspectives in approaching the multicultural group of student’s education, which could have been otherwise in the absence of research.
3T: In your opinion, which is more important in the workplace: emotional intelligence or intellectual intelligence?
Nouzhienino: I’m of the opinion that both should be equally balanced in a workplace. Intellectual intelligence alone may prove a team to be successful yet the working environment may become toxic due to the lack of EI among the coworkers. Also, we need a pleasant environment to be productive in the work that we are engaged in and a person with high EI will have abilities such as teamwork, leadership, successful relations, service orientation, initiative, collaboration.
3T: What are your interests or hobbies outside of the classroom?
Nouzhienino: I have a variety of interests but one hobby which I like to spend my time on is decoupage.
3T: What keeps you motivated everyday?
Nouzhienino: Appreciating every new day that I receive in God’s Mercy and Grace.
3T: Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?
Nouzhienino: Developing more skills to broaden my knowledge and to be grown within my work.
