The Bachelor’s Degree Programme

(Affiliated to Nagaland University)
The College offers courses for graduate degrees in both Arts, Commerce and Management.

Our Academic system provides you with incredible depth to empower you with the tools to build your confidence and character through our academic system. However, academics are not just about getting a degree or getting ranks, it’s about developing a thinking process and leadership skills to support a successful career.

  • You can expect unmatched flexible subject options to choose the major paper you want along with your favourite optional papers. Most institutes would require you to take certain fixed subject options. At Tetso College in the first week of class, you can experiment and sit for a few trial classes, then either continue or choose another subject if you wish.
  • All students are given free computer and soft skill training class, resume writing etc. The computer classes are Government recognised through the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) and all students receive certification on completion of the course.
  • All faculty are technologically proficient and accessible to students via email and go beyond the lecture method of taking classes. We have a mixture of experienced academics along with young and dynamic faculty, many of whom were former toppers themselves and graduates of top universities from abroad and India. Expect a rigorous methodology that involves tests, presentations, internships, exposure trips etc.

In the Degree programme, students have the option to take up Honours in a specific subject. A minimum of 45% in the subject concerned in their HSSLC/10+2 equivalent exam is required to take up Honours. The duration of the Degree course is three years and comprised of six semesters (July-December, January-June). Students must have 80% (5% relaxation) attendance and score a minimum of 40% in their internal assessment to sit for their end semester exams. Important: Pass mark for the semester system is 45%. Students must secure pass mark in both internal assessment and end semester exams to pass to the next semester (ie.,10 for internal and 30 for external). A student is allowed a maximum of 2 backpapers to proceed to the next semester.

*Please note that every programme has limited seats and admission requirements and procedures may vary for certain courses.

Tetso College has swiftly adapted the NEP-FYUGP syllabus structure for its 1st and 3rd semester students with the aim to empower them towards lifelong excellence. The current 3rd Semester students are transitioning from the previous CBCS structure to the current FYUGP system, while 1st Semester students are starting off with the FYUGP right away.

As per the National Education Policy 2020, the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) has replaced the previous 3-Year Graduate Programme. FYUGP is an internationally followed structure which promotes multidisciplinary learning while also ensuring an in-depth study of one’s course of choice. Most importantly, NEP-FYUGP provides students the opportunity to pursue undergraduate research, thereby helping to nurture a culture of research in colleges and universities.

Tetso College is currently following the NEP-FYUGP syllabus laid out by Nagaland University (click to access).

Apart from the Core and AEC papers mandated in the syllabus structure, Tetso College is providing the following choices for courses for its Undergraduate students:
