Once upon a time, there was a man named Sarilungli who was really lazy and poor. He eventually got married, but both he and his wife struggled to find work and couldn’t feed themselves. So, Sarilungli decided to embark on a long journey all by himself, leaving his wife behind. He was on a quest to find a place where he could easily get food without lifting a finger and live a comfortable life. Armed with his trusty spear and some clothes, he traveled far and wide for many years. But no matter where he went, he couldn’t find a place that met his needs without any work. So, he decided to return to his wife. When he arrived home, he shared with his wife that he had failed to find the place he sought. Unfortunately, his wife didn’t recognize him, after so many years had passed. Even Sarilungli’s spear was all rusted from his long journey. To confirm his identity, his skeptical wife asked him to carry a log drum and play it. He tried his best to move the drum, but he couldn’t even shift it an inch. He exhausted all his energy in the attempt. Seeing his struggle, his wife knew that only the real Sarilungli would have failed. She confirmed that he was indeed her husband, and they lived happily ever after. This folktale has a lighthearted tone and a simple message about the importance of hard work.
