The IQAC Cell of Tetso College on 26th April 2022, organized an online programme for the launch of the book titled ‘Higher Education in North-East India: Trends, Opportunities and Challenges’.
The book is a compilation of research works conducted by 12 authors from various disciplines and has aptly addressed and presented the various challenges and issues existing in our educational system, ranging from the need for skill-based and employment centric knowledge building, infrastructural and network challenges, finance and management, sustenance of traditional and archaic knowledge systems and accessibility to equitable and relevant programme courses, to mention a few. Thus, being conscious of these issues, educational institutions have a vital role to perform, be it in creating new knowledge bases or in developing new capabilities and producing skilled human resources through methods encompassing innovative teaching, research and extension activities.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Nouzhienino Peseyie, Asst. Professor, Department of Psychology who welcomed all present and mentioned that the book is an outcome of the online national conference sponsored by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Tetso College in January 2021.
