Tetso College celebrates 5th Undergraduate Graduation Ceremony

[Dimapur, 14th July] – Tetso College, known for its motto “Strive for Excellence”, celebrated its 5th Undergraduate (UG) Graduation Ceremony 2023 on 14th July at Lorin Hall, Tetso College, Sovima. The twin ceremonies held in the morning and evening marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of the 521 graduating students of the School of English and Political Studies & the School of Social Sciences, Business and Economics respectively.

Dr. Hewasa L Khing, Principal, Tetso College, delivered an inspiring address, reflecting on the achievements and growth of the graduating students.

The Valedictorians, Lenpentshu Peri, College English Topper, and Neimenuo Chadi, NU Psychology Topper, delivered eloquent speeches that reflected upon their collective journey, shared memories, and aspirations of their fellow graduates, while expressing gratitude to the faculty, staff, and family members who supported them throughout their academic journey.

The college was honored to have Dr. Sedevi Angami, Director of CIHSR Dimapur, as the esteemed Commencement Speaker for the morning session. Dr. Angami shared principles of life from a biblical perspective, emphasizing the importance of keeping God as the foremost priority and starting each day with Him. While many identify as Christians, the speaker emphasized the significance of being true followers of Christ in order to enhance one's mind and understanding. Drawing from personal
experiences as a student, the speaker shared the realization that merely accumulating knowledge from textbooks can lead to pride. Instead, the speaker encouraged integrating the knowledge gained with the teachings of God's Word and sharing it with others.

The commencement speaker for the second session was Mr. Neichute Doulo, CEO, Entrepreneurs Associates, who addressed the august gathering virtually. By cultivating a curious and entrepreneurial mindset, Doulo highlighted that the graduates would continue expanding their horizons and making groundbreaking discoveries in their chosen fields.

The importance of connection and collaboration was another focal point of the speech. Doulo emphasized the significance of the relationships built during the graduates' time in college. The speaker reminded them that diverse perspectives and collective efforts are necessary to solve the complex challenges the world faces today. The speeches of the commencement speaker and the Director Kvulo Lorin resonated with the audience, offering guidance and encouragement to the graduates as they venture into the next phase of their lives.

A significant highlight of the ceremony was the conferral of Degree Certificates upon the deserving graduates symbolizing the successful completion of their undergraduate studies and marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.

The Tetso College Choir enhanced the celebratory atmosphere with a soulful rendition of the College Anthem, filling the venue with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Following the ceremony, a delightful luncheon after the morning session and dinner after the evening session was hosted, providing an opportunity for the graduates, faculty, staff, and guests to celebrate this momentous occasion.

The UG 5th Graduation Ceremony 2023 at Tetso College was a resounding success, commemorating the accomplishments and hard work of the graduating students.
