The Annual Multi-Disciplinary Fest of Tetso College kicked off today on 11th December 2024 at the Amphitheatre, Tetso College Main campus, with an opening ceremony graced by the presence of Dr. Rosy Tep, vice-principal of Tetso College, deans, school heads, faculty and students. The four-day event will feature competitions among four houses – Hornbill, Tragopan, Amur Falcon, Cochoa – each representing different departments, such as Extempore Speech, Slam Poetry, Tetso Got Talent, Storytelling, Theme Costume Contest, Basketball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Women’s Futsal, Chess, Carrom, Online Games (Mobile Legend & PUBG), Memory Test, Quiz, Spell Bee, Debate, Marathon, Photography Contest, Powerlifting, Reel Making competition, Arm Wrestling, Men’s Football, Volleyball, Tug of War, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put,100m Race, 400m Race,800m Race, Relay Race.
In the welcome address, Hawaibam Loiyumba, Coordinator, Tetso Student Council, stated that the fest is not just a competition but is also about embracing values, respect, integrity and unity. The fest is a time to inspire, learn, excel and showcase the incredible diversity and talent within the Tetso community, he maintained.
Delivering the special address, Dr. Rosy Tep, Vice-Principal, Tetso College, emphasized that this annual multi-disciplinary fest celebrates the multifaceted talents and skills of the students. She highlighted that education extends beyond the classroom and thrives in co-curricular activities, which are equally important in shaping well-rounded individuals. The fest, she explained, provides a platform for students to showcase their creativity, teamwork, and leadership skills through diverse activities like debates, quizzes, and sports. By participating in these events, students not only test their knowledge and abilities but also learn the value of community and collaboration. Dr. Tep encouraged students to embrace every opportunity to learn, grow, and push their boundaries, whether it’s in academics, sports, or the arts. She concluded by stating that the fest is a moment to cherish, a time to connect, inspire, and learn from one another.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Therali Rebecca Ezung, BA 5th Semester, Linguistics Honours, and the oath taking administered by Temsu Longkumer, Coordinator, Tetso Olympics Committee.
