Intruducing our UG Gold Medalists 2021
Cynthia Zeuzeule
Gold Medalist, BA English
Cynthia Zeuzeule is the English gold medalist having scored a CGPA of 6.94 in the recently declared UG Final Semester Examination 2021 held under Nagaland University. In a candid interview, she shares how she prepared for the exams, her inspirations, and future goals. Read on:
I’m elated and I feel blessed beyond measure. It is a tad bit different. Unlike HSSLC, in degree exams, only one gold medalist will emerge from each department and I’m happy to have achieved that rank.
One advice I would give to my freshman self would be to take down notes during lectures! 😆
I’ve made many fond memories at Tetso so it’s tough to choose just one. My favourite would be the time our batchmates participated and emerged as the champion in the Drama Competition. That was a time we worked wholeheartedly together and showed how there truly is strength in unity!
I honestly don’t have any regrets.
‘Lilies For Her.’
I would belong to the History Department because I find the subject very intriguing. I believe it is when you learn about the past that you begin to understand the present and possibly shape the future too.
There is a stereotype that English Honours students only read poems, stories and write poetry. In reality, it goes far beyond that. Taking up English as my major has helped me understand the diverse cultures, socio economic and political conditions of different eras, to think critically and be as creative as you wish!
It takes persistence to come this far.
Your only competition should be yourself and keep working to become better than who you were yesterday.
I like to hang out with my friends in the library and amphitheater.
Having lunch with my friends.
Stressful yet fun.
Tetso has always felt like home to me. I have deep regard and respect for it. I’m indebted to the heads of this institution for their constant support and encouragement. To all the teachers of Tetso, you have been our guiding light and source of knowledge. To the batch of 2018-21, warmest congratulations to each of you and I wish you all good luck and success all throughout your life!
Ratna Gupta
Gold Medalist, BCom Accounting & Finance
Ratna, gold medalist in BCom Accounting & Finance, with a CGPA of 7 in the recently declared UG Final Semester Examination 2021 held under Nagaland University, speaks to us. Read her interview:
It’s a really pleasant feeling and an intense satisfaction having achieved a gold medal in Accounting & Finance. The feeling is quite mutual as Almighty God responded to my prayers and granted me inner strength in achieving my goals every time. It’s a very blessed and delightful moment for me.
Firstly I planned out what needed to be done and when it needed to be finished so I make sure that I don’t leave anything important for last. Then I prepared a proper study schedule and tried to follow it properly. I also collected previous years question papers and also made the best use of my college library and started studying.
My parents have been very much supportive to me physically, emotionally and financially too. Despite so many difficulties, they have always provided me with all the comfort. Even my teachers helped me in every way. They guided me and helped me to do better than before. It is their endless support which always motivated me to give my best.
Yes, to free up my stressed mind I often took part in some form of physical activity. I also ensured to take a break in between study sessions and also listened to music to relax my mind. These are the things which helped me to overcome my stressed mind.
I applied a very simple method, I created a proper study schedule and studied with a positive attitude and clear direction. I believe both hard work and studying smart are important, one needs to be a hard worker and smart too for a fruitful result.
When my family and friends heard that I got a gold medal in Accounting & Finance, they were very much overjoyed and astonished at the same time. Yes they also had their expectancy and optimism by seeing my performance in the past semesters.
Have faith in oneself, try to study everyday at least for an hour or more. Work hard on the lessons consistently. And most important not to give up before you reach your goal. Remember what you achieve will inspire the entire group to aim higher and achieve worth. I also urge you to enjoy your college life and other aspects of your life too. And finally do your best and leave the rest to God.
I am certain that the coming five years will be fruitful for me. I hope to be on a high career path, so that I can provide a comfortable and secure life to my family.
My life in Tetso college has been very joyful. It has enriched my life in many ways. I got very loving and caring friends and amazing teaching faculties. And a wonderful platform to show our skills. Hence, I consider my time in Tetso College as my most valuable experience in my entire life.
A big thank you to the Tetso College family for providing me with all the knowledge, moral support and for showing me the path to success. Believe in oneself, be confident in one’s abilities and always Strive for Excellence. Words cannot express my gratitude to all my teachers, friends and all my well-wishers of Tetso College for their endless help and support. I specially thank Sir Amar Ranjan Dey (HOD, Dept. of Commerce and Management) for always being there for me from the very first day of college and for teaching me to work hard and aim for success.
Inato Aye
Gold Medalist, BBA
Inato Aye secured the gold medal in BBA with a CGPA of 7 in the recently declared UG Final Semester Examination 2021 held under Nagaland University. Get to know him in this exclusive interview:
I would say every individual who supported and prayed for me and my success has contributed to my result.
Time and opportunities once lost can never be regained so giving your best and living every moment is something I learnt apart from the knowledge gained from books.
To be honest, missing out on winning the student of the year title is my only regret.
Believe in yourself, work hard, pray and respect your teachers.
There are many but I would say that getting the gold medal is probably the best thing that has happened to me as a Tetso College student.
‘Fearless’ is what my movie would be called because I believe that in this very competitive generation of ours, fear is something one shouldn’t carry. Be bold, be firm and face everything. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, fear shouldn’t bother you.
Yes, there is a certain degree of pressure but at the same time, I would say I’m excited for a new journey, which if faced with confidence will ultimately take me to my ultimate goal.
Confidence, thankfulness and respect.
The best hangout spot for me would be the shade under the mango tree which me and my boys love to sit under and make plans of having dinner together.
Yes, it has changed a lot, particularly when it comes to viewing entrepreneurship and that at the end of the day, entrepreneurship and private jobs are something which shouldn’t be considered less than government jobs because in the beginning when I took the decision of studying Commerce and Management, I thought it was all about math and banking jobs but now I’m clear that it is much more than that.
Adventurous, emotional, rewarding.

Gold Medalist, BBA

It feels amazing and incredible. It’s the feeling of intense satisfaction and I’m immensely happy and blessed to accomplish this for myself and for the college as well.
First of all, I made sure that I collected all the necessary and important notes which were provided by our teachers. Additionally, I tried my best to go through all the notes before preparing for exams and that way I was able to find out the missing notes and ask for it in advance.
My parents, especially my mom, helped me throughout my college life. She has been the biggest role model and a great motivator who encouraged me, prayed for me and supported me in every way possible and I’m forever thankful for her unconditional love and support. Besides my mom, my teachers were there for me whenever I needed them, they always made themselves available whenever I had doubts or questions. It’s a blessing to have such great teachers who treat the students as their own children/brothers/sisters and I would like to say thank you to all my dear teachers with all my heart.
Definitely yes! Every exam is stressful. In order to overcome my stress I usually took breaks in between my study hours. Talking to my friends really helped me to calm down and praying also helped me in releasing my stress and anxiety.
I really don’t have any specific method but one thing I did consistently was to prepare notes on a daily basis and it was extremely helpful throughout my student life. I don’t know whether I believe in smart studying or not but I think as long as a student is comfortable and improving his/her marks with the help of smart studying, it could be a great option for them.
They were really happy about my achievement and I got best wishes from all my dear friends and family members.
My only advice for the present batch is to enjoy and cherish every second, every moment of your college life because once it is over, you are all going to enter adult life and responsibilities while facing new challenges and competition every single day. But in the meantime, don’t neglect your studies and learn to maintain a perfect balance between study and life.
In the next five years, I see myself as a successful and independent woman who is willing to explore every field and also acquire new skills and experiences.
My life as a Tetso student has been adventurous, exciting and pleasant. Three years passed by in a blink of an eye and I will cherish every moment that I’ve spent in college. I am grateful to all my friends, teachers, and everyone I met throughout my 3 year journey for making my college life truly special and memorable.
Being a part of this beautiful Tetso family has been an unexpected and unforgettable event. I consider myself to be extremely fortunate for getting such a great opportunity to spend my best three years along with best teachers and amazing classmates and friends. I wish the best to everyone who is and who will become a part of this wonderful family in the coming years. I will always remember you all in my prayers. May God bless you all with good health, safety and success.
