Alobo Naga (Department of Music)
Winner of 2021′ Best Indian Act’ at MTV European Music Award Recipient of Governor’s Award for Distiction in Music. Alobo Naga is an Artist, Composer and a Songwriter and one of the most refined, popular & Well-known artistes from North East India. Besides being a performing artistes, he is a composer/producer & write music for films, TV shows, jingles etc and also the Director of Musik- A( Alobo Naga School of music). With over 1000 performances across the world in his music journey, he is one of the most demanding artistes from North East of India. Beside being an artiste, he is a philanthropist who does many charitable works through his music and his NGO “Musik- A”. Some of his few contributions are: sponsoring 17 orphans to school for academic year of 2015 from Bright Morning Star Children Home, Kohima. Raised money for Nepal Earthquake victims, Raised fund & operated 10 children with clef palate at Mon district, Poor patient fund, Mokokchung Hospital Children with cancer, Kohima Naga Hospital, Churches, raised funds for the education of children at the refugee camp affected by Rengma-Karbi conflict and Many more.
Nise Meruno (Department of Music)
At the very young age, Nise Meruno took his place at the piano and tinkled out a tune. Classical music is in his blood; his great-grandmother was taught piano by the American missionaries in Nagaland, his grandmother still performs and his father is a classical guitarist. Meruno, who is from Kohima, Nagaland, was recruited to the Singapore School of Church Music. In 2007, he won the Governor’s Award for Excellence in music. Meruno has since played for the president and the prime minister, and also played all across South East Asia. Nise also composes for and directs choirs, and mentors musicians. He currently helms an all-male choir called Zowe Madrigal and is working on a Naga folk and classical composition. His mission is to travel and promote classical and Naga folk fusion music.
Bethel Tsuzu (Department of Music)
Bethel Tsuzu is an accomplished Pianist, Entrepreneur, and a music educator. She completed her Bachelors of Music, majoring in Piano in School of Church Music, Singapore Bible College. With Piano studies in Singapore under Lanny Yap, and then with Natalia Kapylova in Bengaluru, she went on to Greece in 2015, to further study piano with Yekaterina Lebedevi(piano professor from Royal College London. Bethel has performed as a member of the Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Singapore Symphony Chorus, and closely worked with a legendary violinist Dr. L Subramaniam and Kavitha Krishnamurthy touring all over India, Nigeria, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Indonesia. She is the Artistic Director for Bright Lights Choir(TaFMA) and holds the office of Nagaland Piano Teachers Association( NPTA) as General Secretary.
