Tetso College holds Education Fest

Dimapur: ‘Education Fest’, an intra-collegiate event of the Department of Education, Tetso College, was conducted under the theme ‘Envision, Enlighten, Empower’ in the college auditorium on 15th February, 2020.

The Education Fest, a semester event of the Department of Education, Tetso College which has been organized since 2019, is conducted to provide opportunity for the students to explore their talent, creativity, and skills in different dimensions.

This year’s edition witnessed a Paper Presentation competition on the topic ‘Reformation of Curriculum and Challenges of Teaching-Learning in Nagaland’ keeping in mind the problems and challenges plaguing the educational system at the primary, elementary, secondary, and higher education level.

The Paper Presentation competition sought to examine the quality, effectiveness, relevance of the aims/goals and objectives, subject matter/content, learning experiences, and evaluation approaches through the findings and suggestions of the different presenters to improve the quality and standards of the education in Nagaland.

A total of five presenters took part in the event out of which Hutoka H. Assumi of BA 6th Semester (Department of Education) was declared the winner, while Apeinuo Zeiphru of BA 2nd Semester (Department of Economics) and Nourhechulie Rulho of BA 4th Semester (Department of Sociology) bagged the second and third positions respectively.

The judges for the competition were Onentila Longkumer, Asst. Professor, Department of Education, Dr. Kapesa Pfokrelo, Asst. Professor, Department of Political Science, and Nisha Dahiya, Asst. Professor, Department of English.

Meanwhile, the programme was chaired by Thejaseno Chase of BA 4th Semester, invocation led by Kuku Lohe of BA 6th Semester, special song sung by Ruby Tep and friends, and vote of thanks delivered by K. Elohra Christina, Asst. Professor, Department of Education.
