“Tune of Tati” is a Chakhesang song sung along with the single-stringed traditional musical instrument.
The Chakhesangs are a major Naga ethnic group inhabiting the Northeast Indian state of Nagaland. The Chakhesangs are divided into two groups known as Chokri and Kuzhami. The name “Chakhesang” was created as an acronym from the names of three ethnic groups: the Chakrü (Chokri), Khezha (Kuzhami) and Southern Sangtam (now Pochury). The Chakesangs are well known for their rich traditional folklores, traditional practices and their love for music.
‘Tune of Tati’ starts with a greeting “This day is a happy day,” and the third line sings the motto of Tetso College, “Let us strive for excellence.”
