While it has only been a year into his office as Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, he expressed optimism that colleges like Tetso will be a great asset to the
knowledge base of the state, and the nation at large. He especially emphasized on the college’s potential to contribute to developing content around what he termed ‘Naga Indian Knowledge.’ The possibility of having Swayam modules around the subject, taking advantage of the technology available on campus especially excited him, he added.

Patnaik, who also inaugurated the newly furnished Recording Room at the college, encouraged the students to take advantage of the college’s excellent infrastructure and educational services to carve a fulfilling future for themselves and the communities they inhabit. He stated that excellence need not necessarily mean inhabiting offices in the upper echelons of government or any other such traditional spaces but being persistent in one’s efforts to achieve whatever goals have been set with concentrated effort.
