70th Constitution Day celebrated at Tetso College

The Department of Political Science of Tetso College joined the rest of the country in celebrating the ‘Constitution Day’ (Samvidhan Divas) on 26 November 2019 in the college auditorium. The celebration marked the 70th anniversary of the adoption of India’s Constitution on 26 November 1949 and the recognition of the existence of this Constitution as a living document.

As part of the celebration and national wide campaign, Tetso College made a dedicated effort to promote and spread awareness about the Constitution and Fundamental Duties through a solemn programme.

During the programme, Dr. P.S. Lorin, Principal, in his opening remarks, spoke about the various aspects
of the Indian Constitution.

Dr. Rimmei Longmei, Head of Department of Political Science spoke about the idea and need for the
Constituent Assembly and the making of the Indian Constitution.

Dr. Aniruddha V. Babar, Assistant Professor of Political Science Department spoke about the significance
of the philosophy of the Indian Constitution.

All the resource persons paid a huge tribute to all the past leaders and framers of the great Constitution
of India. The solemn programme ended with the mass reading of the Preamble, Fundamental Duties and
singing together of the National Anthem.

The programme was led by Dr. Pfokrelo Kapesa, Assistant Professor of Department of Political Science
and was attended by many students, faculties and all the Honours students of the Department.
