About the Guest Speaker: J. Maivio is a social worker with over 12 years of experience on North East Issues, Human Rights, Gender and Development.
Maivio has also served as a member and representative in multiple committees under Govt. of India for North East Issues namely:
-Member, Bezbaruah Committee set up by Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI in 2014.
-Member, Lt. Governor Committee constituted by Lt. Governor of Delhi for ensuring safety of NE, 2014;
-Coordination Secretary, North East India Support and Monitoring Cell Constituted by Govt. NCT of Delhi, 2016;
-North East Delhi Police representative since 2013 till date.
Besides Govt. Committees, Maivio has held the capacity of Advisor to North East and Naga Students Union Bodies. Maivio has also been President, General Secretary, convenor and co-convenors to multiple bodies and unions representing concerns of North East and Naga Issues.
Also known for his strategic managerial capacity, he has successfully led as Vice President with North East India Welfare Society for more than five years. Maivio is also presently a Special Invitee, Monitoring Committee set up by the Ministry of Home Affairs GoI in 2017 and has also been a frequent Guest Lecturer to Delhi Police Training Schools and other Training Centres.
