The Covid19 pandemic and the consequent lockdowns around the world is teaching us what it means to live in isolation, but also how the pause on work and life affects so many sections of society, especially the poor. However, it is clear that the virus does not discriminate. Today, the reality of the ‘new normal’ looms near where all of us have to contend with these extraordinary and sometimes difficult challenges. For students, this means having to adjust to the change in the central position that the educational institution, both tangible and intangible, has on a student’s life. Students have to increasingly rely more on self-learning and utilizing online tools to alleviate the loss of classroom hours and necessary socialization in the education process. However, a student’s life is not solely intellectual, and the emotional and psychological responses to how the lockdown has affected the relationship between students and their subject, between students and the world around them also merits knowing more about, especially since isolation also compels one to step out of the familiar trappings of the past. This webinar, thus, aims at inculcating articulations around student experiences during this challenging time and also to serve as a common platform to give voice to the primary stakeholders of any educational endeavour.
