The Minority Cell in collaboration with SC/ST Cell, organising an Essay Writing Competition on the topic “CONSTITUTIONAL SAFEGUARD FOR MINORITIES AND SC/ST: A CRITICAL ANALYSIS”

ABSTRACT:

The essay writing competition is initiated with the purpose to acknowledge the presence of different minorities and SC/ST communities in Tetso College. It aims at empowering the minorities and SC/ST students to know their identity, and their constitutional rights and encourage them how to use these provisions to their advantage. The fundamental objective of the essay is to let these communities know that they have a “VOICE” which they can raise in many ways, one of which is the essay writing competition. It is an effort to spread awareness on the various provisions provided to them by the Constitution of India mainly stressing on educational programmes and schemes available for their welfare and for the development of their careers.

 

Aims and Objectives:

  1. To create awareness among the students about important subjects and issues in society like the minorities and SC/ST issues.
  2. To develop critical and analytical thinking and approach towards relevant social and political issues.
  3. To allow the students to exercise their freedom of speech and expression.
  4. To encourage the students to enrol for courses, workshops, programs, etc. Which the Cells (Minority & SC/ST Cells) offer students in an attempt to equip them with skills needed for their careers.
  5. To make the minority students aware of the various scholarships schemes of the Central and State Governments.
  6. To develop innovative and creative thinking/ writing in participants
  7. To equip the students with excellent writing skills
