Digitizing the Library: Exploring eResources | DOT Talks Webinar Series

Digital resources have existed for decades, but never before has their need been felt more strongly than in 2020. As the world sinks into the new normal of social distancing, academicians and researchers are now increasingly reaching out to e-resources. While print books might be locked in permanency, digital resources can be extremely current. However, one must also learn to distinguish credible resources from the ocean of e-resources. This webinar will take a look at various e-resources which would be most beneficial for academicians and researchers alike, and will have live demonstrations as well.

Speakers:

Maonglemla Jamir (Asst. Librarian, Tetso College)
Maonglemla completed her Masters in Library and Information Science from NEHU, Shillong, where her dissertation studied the Status of Women in Library Profession in Dimapur. She chose librarianship as a profession though many people considered it as a “run-of-the-mill” job. Serving people is her passion, and being a librarian gives her the platform to serve people in a different way: to make available “information” in its widest sense, serving for leisure as well as research needs. Working in a library and exploring books always reminds her that there are good things in this world.

Nechuli Jemu (Library Asst., Tetso College)
Nechuli worked at St. Joseph College, Jakhama, for 4 years before joining Tetso. Coming from a Commerce background, she chose her to be a librarian as she loves to serve people and help them find information. Working in an environment surrounded by a variety of books fuels her with imagination and inspires her to explore life on a more diversified platform.
