Governor’s Dr. T. Ao Scholarship Award
The Governor’s Dr. T. Ao Scholarship Award is open for any Tetso student. The Awardee (1 nos.) will receive a certificate, trophy and a gift hamper of local Naga indigenous products.
Scholarship Guidelines
- Purpose of Study: Students are expected to complete a field project on the theme “Naga Culture, Languages, Traditions or Folklore, and their interface with the modern Naga lifestyle”.
Sub Topics: Topics can range from, but is not limited to, any of the following – Festivals, Folksong, folklore, folk dance, local cuisine, rituals, traditional adornment, art and culture
- What must you do?
The field project can be in the form of video, audio recording or photographs, poster etc. However, the field project should accompany a brief write up of minimum 1500 words stating the aims, objectives, methodology, observations/findings and conclusion of research work.
- If interviews are conducted, video or audio recordings must be available as proof of evidence with the free consent of the concerned. Name and Signature of interviewer, date of interview, time and place must be recorded.
- If interviews are recorded on paper, questionnaire or survey should be prepared.
- If the interviews are recorded on videotape or photographed they shall be recorded with high quality Audio-video/photographic device with the free consent of the concerned.
- Every documented video or audio shall be kept in DVD format/pen drive with brief description and identification marks.
- Data collection can also be done by conducting survey and observation. However, if survey method is used then research parameters and variables have to be set for measurements. If Observation method is used then the observation has to be a participatory observation with unbiased, unprejudiced record and documentation.
- It is compulsory for Researchers/ Participants to wear Identity Cards during their field trips.
- Clear evidence of study indicating names, dates, time and place of all interviews, recordings or documenting procedure must be strictly maintained.
- The research material submitted by researchers/participants along with write-up shall be a property of Tetso College which will be used for archival/research/documentation purpose under the auspice of its Research Centre.
- Identification of Study Area: Any district of choice
- Target population: Naga population, irrespective of tribe
Objective of Study:
- To document, preserve and collect information on the topic mentioned
- To be a useful resource for further research and study
- To explore areas of Naga practices or culture either in traditional or contemporary settings
